Issues
Economy
Our country was built on a free enterprise system which fosters economic growth and affords everyone with the opportunity to pursue the American dream. Unfortunately, liberal policies make it harder to do business in our country and reduce economic opportunities for our workforce. We must pursue a common sense approach to our economy based on fair, free and open markets that advances economic growth, keeps inflation in check and the cost of living down.
Energy
Our country is facing an energy crisis. Energy use is skyrocketing while energy production and delivery cannot keep up. As a result, nearly every region in our country faces rolling blackouts and electricity shortages. Burdensome regulations and restrictions on the production of energy hurts our economy and jeopardizes our national security. To overcome these challenges, we must follow a common sense approach that facilitates energy innovation and diversification.
Environment
We have a responsibility to be good stewards of our land, air, and water. As our knowledge expands and innovation progresses, we must take what we know and apply it to ensure we improve our environment and quality of life for generations to come. Too often however, extreme partisanship prioritizes ideology over common sense. We must develop a balanced approach to environmental policies and encourage innovation without choosing winners and losers.
Immigration
Immigration policy in our country is a disaster. Immigration policy seems more driven by election results than any real long-term common sense solutions. Extremists in both parties have deadlocked our country - one side just wants to build a wall and the other side seems to want to build a freeway to America. It is time for a common sense solution that strengthens our national security and allows a path for citizenship.
National Security
Our national security is under attack by hostile foreign adversaries, including China, Russia and North Korea, amidst complex and evolving international dynamics. Domestic threats from these foreign entities are taking many forms domestically, including militarily, politically and economically. A Common Sense America is focused on shining a light on how foreign influence seeks to shape policy that directly impacts national security, food security, energy independence and technological advancement domestically, and work with policymakers to stop these efforts within our borders.
Public Safety
Public safety is a quality of life issue. People need to feel safe going to work, attending school, and going to bed at night. Unfortunately, the public’s sense of security has been destroyed in their communities as a result of failed policies. Crime is out of control and extremists on both sides are deadlocked on solutions that address public safety and tackle crime. It’s time we identify and implement common sense solutions that make our communities safer.
